MarES is an interdisciplinary research project. Researchers from UiT, Akvaplan NivaUniversity in Stavanger, NMBUMenon Economics and Universidade NOVA de Lisboa aim to find new and better instruments for marine resource management.

MarES recognizes that global changes in climate and human activities may affect utilization of marine ecosystem services (ES) in the northernmost part of Norway. It is especially relevant in areas with conflicts of interest between user groups and policy makers.

Nova SBE Environmental Economics Knowledge Center

At Universidade Nova de Lisboa, MarES is cordinated by Nova SBE Environmental Economics knowledge center.

The NOVA SBE Knowledge center for environmental economic is dedicated at fostering cooperation between environmental economists, engineers and natural scientists to produce high quality multidisciplinary research.

It focuses on applied studies, creating knowledge and expertise to assist policy decision making and the industry through scientific studies and education.
